Utz is a serial entrepreneur and executive who has spent his entire career contributing to the advancement of the connected home industry. As the founder and CEO of AD systems, his firm was ranked among the top 100 systems integration companies in the U.S., designing and installing thousands of sophisticated control systems to automate homes. Over the last decade, he served as Chairman and CEO of CEDIA, the global trade organization which has represented the connected home industry since its earliest beginnings nearly 30 years ago. In his most recent venture Plum, Utz assembled an allstar team to lead in the evolution of connected home technologies, delivering the first distributed system in the consumer space through his award-winning lighting product, the Plum Lightpad. Utz also serves as Vice President of Innovation for Builder Homesite / BDX.
